Mid Sussex Conservative Association Conservative Women’s Organisation (CWO)
Empowering Women in Politics
At Mid Sussex, we take immense pride in actively supporting our women members through the work of our Conservative Women’s Organisation (CWO). Led by our passionate Chairman, Margaret Baker, the CWO is dedicated to empowering women in politics and ensuring their voices are heard at all levels of government.
What is the CWO?
The CWO is a national group within the Conservative Party, organized through regional and constituency-based committees. It provides a platform for women with a shared purpose and goal: to support and encourage those who aspire to become Councillors, Police Crime Commissioners, MPs, or hold any elected role within the Party. Our mission is to equip women with the skills necessary to run successful campaigns and excel in their political careers.
Why Women’s Representation Matters
We believe it is crucial for women to be represented in the Party and present at the decision-making table. By increasing the visibility of women in government, we inspire others to get involved and ensure that a woman’s perspective is considered at all levels of policy-making. The CWO extends its reach beyond politics, engaging women voters to participate in policy forums, campaigns, and lobbying efforts.
Inclusivity at Our Core
While our focus is on supporting women, all members of the Conservative Party, including men, are automatically members of the CWO and are welcome at our events. We foster an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute to our shared goals.
Events: Get Involved!
The best way to get involved with the CWO is to attend our events. These gatherings are informal, relaxed, and open forums for conversation and discussion. Check our events section for upcoming dates and join us to share your ideas and connect with like-minded individuals.
