Stephen grew up in Mid Sussex, has lived here most of his life and in Bentswood in Haywards Heath since 2009.
Stephen has been your County Councillor since 2014 and has served on WSCC's Cabinet.
He was also a District Councillor and Cabinet Member for Economic Growth & Net Zero at Mid Sussex DC where he was focussed on creating more local jobs whilst managing a SMART pathway to carbon neutrality increased biodiversity not just for the Council’s operations but the District as a whole.
He already happily devotes a huge amount of time to serving his community and feels that the knowledge, experience and wide range of high level contacts that he has developed over the years which have enabled him to serve his residents, charities (he chairs the Bentswood Community Partnership), community groups and businesses very effectively.
Stephen is a strong advocate for the rights and welfare of those who need support at any stage of their lives and has a wealth of knowledge that he uses on your behalf. He is also influential in tackling the many issues that affect residents, from annoyances like speeding and anti-social parking to the wider issues of unbridled house-builders, getting roads and pavements repaired and working with local schools.
On a personal note, Stephen has a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and has worked in plastics manufacturing, quality control, recruitment, purchasing and commercial property leasing, including running his own business until his Cllr responsibilities made this impractical. He is a keen hockey player and coach, is blessed with three marvellous adult children with whom he enjoys sharing going out and about in Mid Sussex.
